Nai Anwar, a Rohingya man and chairman of Freedom for Burma, fled Myanmar for Thailand in 2008 to escape the Myanmar military’s persecution and killing of the Rohingya people in western Myanmar. He came to the U.S in 2013 and is applying to be a citizen.
